The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently checking out the Fernie two Community Hall in Mpuluzi to render expert services for the community.

SASSA is going to be rendering solutions which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In a statement, the agency claimed it is alarmed with regard to the substantial amount of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim from the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the high number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This is certainly due to the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there is no totally functional office dedicated to service the area every day. The services stage produced for intervention experiences a high inflow of opportunity beneficiaries, that makes it hard to the office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.

“In this sassa reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise a lot more sources to enable the servicing of all customers and maximize sassa status check use of Social Assistance expert services,” the agency said.
